Where Mechanical Engineering Meets the Outdoors

Ben Woodman is a mechanical engineer and artist based in Seattle, Washington. A proud Georgia Institute of Technology graduate, Ben brings the same analytical precision to his graphite and charcoal artwork that he applies to aerospace engineering at Blue Origin — where he helps design the next generation of space vehicles.

When he's away from the drafting table, you'll find Ben rock climbing in the Cascades, backcountry skiing across Pacific Northwest powder, or hiking alpine ridgelines with a sketchbook in his pack. Seattle's proximity to world-class outdoor terrain keeps his creative inspiration — and his sense of adventure — constantly fueled.

Ben specializes in realistic graphite pencil portraits and charcoal drawings, from detailed pet portraits to expressive figure studies. His commissions are open to anyone looking for a custom hand-drawn sketch — whether it's a beloved family pet, a personal portrait, or a landscape from a favorite trail.
